Welcome Message from
Dr. Thomas Piechota
Dear PSWRC Participants,
I would like to welcome you to the UNLV campus for the 2010 Pacific Southwest Regional Conference. We are very excited to be the hosts along with NAU this year. Our ASCE Student Chapters have worked hard to make this a successful conference.
This year's attendance is over 1000 participants and this is a testament to you all showing a strong interest in ASCE Student Chapters and the high quality event put on by UNLV and NAU. We are thrilled to have NAU as our co-host this year and I am particularly happy about this since I am a Lumberjack Alumnus!
This is also a great opportunity to show off our campus, which is a rapidly growing university that has top-notch faculty and students that contribute to the high quality education and research programs. Our faculty, students, and staff enthusiastically confront the challenges of economic and cultural diversification, urban growth, social justice, and sustainability.
I hope you enjoy the Conference and your time at UNLV and Southern Nevada. Engineer a Difference.
